Vor einiger Zeit habe ich mal meine Mappe von den Workshops durchgesehen, an denen ich selbst teilgenommen habe. Da kamen alte Erinnerungen auf wie mein erster Kurs, an dem ich 1995 beim Quilt Symposium in Ohiohttp://www.qsds.com/aboutclasses.html mit Ruth Mc Dowell teilgenommen hatte. Oder 2 Jahre später der Kurs mit der bekannten, damals noch jungen Quilt Künstlerin Libby Lehmann, die inzwischen, auf Grund eines Schlaganfalles in einem Rollstuhl gelandet ist und kaum noch sprechen kann. Mit den Notizen von 1997 stieß ich auf den Workshop mit Nancy Crow, und da war meine Entscheidung für das nächste Quiltprojekt gefallen. Ich griff Nancy' s Idee auf , einen traditionellen Block zu nähen, dann zu zerschneiden und zu einem neuen Muster zusammen zusetzen. Das hatte ich vor einigen Jahren schon mal mit dem " Drunkard's path " (letztes Foto)gemacht und jetzt hatte ich den Block " Bright Hopes" ausgesucht. - A few weeks ago, I looked through all my notes from previous workshops I had taken. My memories went way back to the first one in 1995 with Ruth Mac Dowell at the Quilt Symposium in Ohio. More notes resulted from a class in 1999 with well known quilt artist, Libby Lehman who, some years , sadly suffered a stroke, can hardly speak and is now confined to a wheel chair . But when I found papers from Nancy Crow's workshop in 1997, the decision for my next quilt project was made. A traditional quilt block was sewn, cut apart and redesigned. I had already worked this method some years ago using "drunkard 's path" (see last photo). This time I chose the block "Bright Hopes . "

mit alter Bettwäsche, begrenzt auf 3 Farben, habe ich diesen Entwurf gestaltet. Bevor ich nun mit der richtigen Arbeit beginne, muss ich die richtige Farbpalette aus den selbst gefärbten Stoffen zusammen stellen.
I used old sheets limited to 3 colors to create this sampler.
Now before I can start the real piece I have to pick the colors from my stash of hand dyes.
